Sentinel Solar Corp., formerly Sentinel Power Systems Inc. – a provider of solar power systems for the residential, commercial and farm markets – has formed a new business partnership with Ontario-based solar module manufacturer SolGate Inc. The partnership will focus on the Ontario solar market space.
‘This exclusive distribution partnership with Solgate ensures Sentinel will continue to have a consistent supply of quality, Ontario-made solar modules to address its rapidly expanding business in Ontario,’ says Adam Webb, president of Sentinel Solar. ‘With the Ontario Power Authority's increasing emphasis on Ontario content in the feed-in-tariff and [micro-feed-in-tariff] programs, access to locally made solar modules is vital.’
The companies now share a newly expanded 25,000 square-foot facility in Woodbridge, Ontario, and have 30 people employed, with the total expected to grow. Solgate has expanded its production capacity, from 6 MW to 25 MW per year.
