Government officials in Serbia have signed a memorandum calling for the construction of a 1 GW PV park in the country.
The installation will be the largest in the world, according to a report from Balkans.com. Total investment is expected to reach approximately 2 billion euros. Electricity produced at the plant will be exported to European Union countries, said Oliver Dulic, Serbia's Minister of Environment, Mining and Spatial Planning.
Construction is projected to take three to five years.
