During a recent ceremony in New Orleans, the Alliance for Affordable Energy honored Sharp Solar Energy Solutions Group for its donation of 10 solar power systems to a community severely impacted by Hurricane Katrina.
Last year, Sharp spearheaded its SOLA in NOLA initiative, orchestrating a ‘solar build’ that benefited residents of the Holy Cross neighborhood of New Orleans. Working with numerous local organizations and businesses, as well as several independent installers, Sharp donated 10 1.5 kW solar electric systems, which were installed atop nine homes and a community center between February 28 and March 1, 2007.
