Sharp Electronics Corp., the U.S. subsidiary of Sharp Corp., says it will supply its tandem-junction thin-film solar panels for an 18.5 MW DC solar project in Ontario, Canada.
The project is being developed under a joint venture between SunEdison and SkyPower Ltd., and consists of two solar parks – SunE Sky Norfolk I and II – which will be located in Port Dover and Simcoe, Ontario. Construction began in March and is expected to be completed this fall.
Once the project is online, the Ontario Power Authority will purchase the power produced by the Norfolk plant and deliver it to Ontario residents and businesses.
