Signal Energy Building 30 MW Spectrum Solar Project

Signal Energy LLC, a design/build general contractor providing engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) services to the North American renewable energy industry, has been selected as the EPC contractor for the Spectrum Nevada solar project in Clark County, Nev.

The 30 MW solar project is the largest DC solar tracking array owned by Southern Power Co. and its partner, Turner Renewable Energy.

Signal Energy is responsible for the EPC activities associated with the 311-acre solar farm located just outside of Las Vegas. The company's scope of work includes all engineering, civil infrastructure, mechanical assembly and electrical work, along with the associated substation and transmission line.

Approximately 2,000 tracker rows with 130,000 photovoltaic solar modules will make up the array. Array Technologies Inc., based in Albuquerque, N.M., manufactured the tracking system.
