California-based solar silicon producer Silicor Materials has announced the passing of its chairman, John Correnti, at the age of 68.
Correnti is best known for his innovations in the steel industry – expertise he brought to Silicor's metals-based process. The company is currently building a manufacturing facility for its solar silicon in Iceland.
‘John was a revolutionary thinker, a respected leader and a dear friend,’ says Theresa Jester, CEO of Silicor. ‘His profound impact on Silicor Materials – not just on our business, but also on the men and women he guided along the way – will be forever felt. Like so many others, we are fortunate to have known John, and we will miss him immensely.’
Jester will assume Correnti's role on the Silicor board of directors.
