skytron Deploying Power Plant Controllers For Three PV Plants In Romania

0

skytron energy has received a contract from Romania-based engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) firm LSG Building Solutions to install its skycontrol power plant controller in a 50 MW solar facility. The utility-scale photovoltaic plant is due to be commissioned by the end of the year.

The award follows two other PV projects LSG and skytron recently completed in Romania – a 45 MW plant and a 20 MW plant. The power plants feed into Transelectrica's 110 kV high-voltage grid.

According to skytron, the power plant controllers for all three facilities meet the special requirements of the Romanian grid system. It is mandatory in Romania that PV power feed be directed by local dispatchers, and all PV plants must have frequency support and power balancing. The capabilities must be installed on all new-build PV plants and retrofitted to existing ones.
