Atlanta-based solar design, development and construction firm SolAmerica Energy LLC has opened an office in Washington, D.C.
The office will support SolAmerica's solar development and engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) efforts in the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast regions. John Buffington, SolAmerica's vice president of business development, has been appointed to head the office.
SolAmerica is currently the EPC for a 2 MW solar project for SunEdison in Howard County, Md.
‘A presence in Washington allows SolAmerica to focus on the interest and growth in solar development along the East Coast,’ says R. Stanley Allen, president of SolAmerica. ‘We were already active in this market, and opening an office solidifies our commitment to the region.’
