Solar Electrical Systems, based in Westlake Village, Calif., has completed the installation of a 360 kW solar shadeport at the Los Angeles Air Force Base. According to the company, this is the city's largest solar electrical shadeport.
For the first time, modules were panelized (seven modules combined into one long panel) in the ISO 9001 factory and shipped directly to the site on flatbed trucks. This strategy sped up the installation process by 20%, reduced on-site labor costs, and reduced the overall system cost, Solar Electrical Systems says.
