Solar Energy Initiatives Opens Solar Technical School

0

Solar Energy Initiatives Inc. (SNRY) has initiated the first class of its solar technical school, located in Jacksonville, Fla. The new school is funded by stimulus dollars provided to the company by collaborating public partners.

The classes will target members of the construction industry and related trades affected by the economic downturn in an effort to re-train and re-deploy their workforce into solar. The eight-week class will provide attendees with the tools and the technical knowledge to become certified solar technicians, SRNY says.

In addition to the new Jacksonville school, SNRY is currently working with the State of South Carolina and the North Eastern Strategic Alliance on the configuration of a 6,000 square-foot solar academy training center, to be located in Williamsburg County, S.C.
