Solar Gain Installs Two Test PV Systems In Arizona

0

Solar Gain Inc., a Tucson, Ariz.-based solar engineering, procurement and construction firm, has commissioned two test systems on the Rosemont Copper Co.'s Power Proving Ground. One of the systems comprises 20.7 kW of amorphous silicon PV modules on Schletter's ballasted PVMax racking system.

The second system is the world's first system consisting of Global Solar Energy's PowerFLEX building-integrated PV modules mounted on a thermoplastic polyolefin membrane, according to Solar Gain.

Potential applications for the PowerFLEX system include the conversion of unused or previously contaminated land into solar assets, the company adds. The research is being conducted as part of Rosemont Copper Co.'s 2010 call for renewable energy research projects.
