St. Louis-based Solar Night Industries has been selected by Sage Homebuilders to design and install a 4 kW solar system that will be featured at the National Green Builders Conference in St. Louis on March 26-28.
Sage Homebuilders is building the showcase home to help demonstrate the variety of green building practices and materials that are revolutionizing the industry. The 3,700 square-foot house, which is sponsored by Owens Corning, will be a near-zero energy home. Solar Night's solar system, with Sharp's 167 W panels designed to fit the structure of the roof, will allow a homeowner to create approximately 5,900 kWh per year, the company says.
‘We couldn't be more excited to be the designer and supplier of solar energy for this important showcase home to be viewed by hundreds of national green builders, and work with builders like Sage who are helping push the envelope on modern energy solutions for today's homes and businesses,’ says Jason Loyet, Solar Night's president.
