SolarCity, a provider of solar power financing, design, installation, monitoring and energy-efficiency services, says it has hired Mark Roe as the company's new vice president of operations. He will report to Chief Operating Officer Peter Rive.
Roe joins SolarCity from Apple Inc., where he was senior director of worldwide service. In this role, he oversaw Apple's global service operations, including new product introductions; technical training; field support and feedback; service engineering; strategic sourcing; planning and procurement; and logistics.
Prior to working for Apple, Roe was vice president of customer satisfaction and quality at Palm, where he was responsible for channel management, customer service and product quality. He earned his bachelor's of science in industrial engineering and operations research from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and an MBA in marketing and finance from Syracuse University.
