SolarCity has opened an expanded operations center in Albany, N.Y.
The company says it has quadrupled its New York workforce, from 10 to 46 employees, since October 2011, and is now hiring for 34 positions across the state, including eight in Albany. Available jobs include electricians, installers, managers and auditors.
On July 23, SolarCity received notification from the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) that the company is now a NYSERDA-approved ‘Full’ Affiliated Contractor. In June, Solar City was accredited by the Building Performance Institute (BPI) and became a NYSERDA-affiliated contractor of the Home Performance with Energy Star program, the company adds.
