SolarCity says it is developing a 1.3 MW solar power project that will bring renewable energy to nine schools and facilities in California's Martinez Unified School District (MUSC).

The solar installations are expected to save the district $442,000 on utility bills in their first year of operation, and roughly $22.5 million over the next 20 years. They will offset approximately 94% of the MUSC facilities' electrical needs.
