SolarFrameWorks Co. has unveiled CoolPly, a building-integrated photovoltaic (BIPV) single-ply membrane system. Market tested in 2008 and installed at over 20 locations across the country, CoolPly is now being formally introduced to the construction and solar industries.
BIPV CoolPly bridges the gap between two industries, roofing and electrical contractors and solar developers. CoolPly provides a custom BIPV product that is extremely light weight and has very high wind ratings, according to SolarFrameWorks.
The system is designed and engineered for the specific building, with the flexibility to match the brand, type and attachment method of the existing roof membrane on the job site. CoolPly can be installed by traditional roofing methods by local roofers.
