Solaria Brasil Developing 3 MW Photovoltaic Project In Brazil

Solaria Brasil has announced an agreement to develop its first project, a 3 MW photovoltaic plant that will be the largest PV installation connected to the grid in Brazil, according to the company.

The new installation will be located in the state of Minas Gerais, toward the southeastern part of the country. Solaria will manage the engineering, procurement and construction of the project, and will also provide photovoltaic modules created by its engineering and design department.

The company has formed a joint venture with Compania Energetica de Minas Gerais (CEMIG), an integrated electric company based in Brazil. For the development of the project, CEMIG will provide its knowledge and experience in the Brazilian electricity market.

Construction on the plant will begin in the first quarter of 2011.
