SolarReserve Commits To Using Nevadan Workforce

SolarReserve, which is currently developing the 110 MW Crescent Dunes solar project in Nye County, Nev., has entered into an agreement with Nye County that will require 90% of the project's construction workforce to come from Nevada residents. Tonopah Solar Energy LLC, a SolarReserve affiliate, signed the agreement.

The project is expected to create more than 600 jobs on-site during the peak construction period, according to SolarReserve. Final approval from the board of Nye County commissioners is expected by the end of the month. Full notice to proceed into the construction phase of the project is anticipated in September.

In addition, SolarReserve says it is pursuing a program that will support localized hiring of veterans and family members of active duty military personnel during the Crescent Dunes project's construction and operation.
