SolarWorld has supplied its panels for the 1.5 MW solar array at Cibao International Airport in the Dominican Republic.
The ground-mount solar facility, commissioned in July, was developed and installed by Dominican-based Trace Solar SRL. SolarWorld's engineering, procurement and construction division designed the system, which has 5,880 SolarWorld Sunmodule solar panels mounted on its Sunfix racks. The array is expected to generate about 2.3 GWh of electricity per year.
