SolarWorld says it will launch a new version of its Suntrac single-axis tracker this week.
The U.S.-manufactured tracker can be custom-configured for solar projects larger than 500 kW. According to SolarWorld, Suntrac requires no welding or fabrication in the field and accommodates various uneven terrains.
In addition, the tracker is designed to allow groups of solar panels to be joined or ‘panelized’ off-site. The tracker also features dry, low-friction bearings and an electric actuator.
SolarWorld expects that the new version of Suntrac will be installed this year at solar projects in Southern California and the San Francisco Bay area.
