Solaxis GmbH and Solardach GmbH have inaugurated a rooftop solar power plant on the roof of Riedel Recycling in Moers, Germany. The solar modules have a total output of 837 kW, and the project is Germany's largest photovoltaic plant using thin-film technology on a pitched roof, the companies note.
Technical support for the project was provided by the German subsidiary of the Swiss inverter manufacturer Sputnik Engineering, which delivered four SolarMax central inverters. Over 10,000 cadmium-telluride modules from First Solar cover the entire southern roof of the former coal mixing hall.
