Solectria Supplying Inverters For PV Projects At 28 Calif. Schools

Inverter manufacturer Solectria Renewables LLC has been chosen as the inverter supplier for the Sonoma Valley Unified School District (SVUSD) in California. The PV systems will comprise 19 carport shade arrays, three ground-mount systems and six shade structures, spanning 10 schools across the district and totaling 2.5 MW.

Solectria Renewables says it worked closely with WESCO Distribution, one of Solectria Renewables' nationwide distributors, and Roebbelen Contracting Inc., a general contractor with a 52-year history. Solectria will supply inverters ranging from 13 kW to 300 kW.

Construction is under way, and the project is expected to be commissioned in August. The collective solar project at SVUSD is expected to offset 96% of the school district's energy usage and amount to $750,000 in California Solar Initiative rebates during the first five years.
