SOLON Energy GmbH, a Germany-based PV module manufacturer and systems provider, has inaugurated a 1.6 MW photovoltaic system at a food market in Berlin. The project was installed by Berliner Energieagentur.
According to SOLON, the array, which is located at the Berliner Grossmarkt, is the city's largest roof-mounted system. It is expected to generate approximately 1,400 MWh of solar power annually. Berliner Energieagentur contracted and financed the project and will also handle system operation. SOLON used 5,540 of its solar modules in the array.
