Soltas Energy says that commercial operation has begun at a 761 kW solar power plant in Lawrence, Mass. The installation, built on the roof of Key Polymer's 165,000 square-foot manufacturing and corporate headquarters building, is Soltas' third solar project in Lawrence.
Soltas designed, paid for and built the project. It also owns the system and will sell its output to Key Polymer for 25 years. The installation uses 2,600 panels and provides almost all of the electricity needs of the building. Lawrence-based Solectria Renewables provided its inverters for the project.
