Spain-based Soltec has developed the Solarfighter, a PV tracking system for residential and commercial installations.
The system includes a micro-tracker, PV module, micro-inverter, wiring and monitoring components. Data can be remotely accessed through a smartphone or via the Web for remote control of the system, monitoring of instant power, production history, security functions and other information.
‘It was a challenge to transpose the benefits of a utility-scale photovoltaic system to the residential sector,’ says Thomas Grant, director of Soltec's research and development department. ‘The tracker can increase the yield of the installation by more than 30 percent with respect to a conventional fixed installation.’Â
