Vicenza, Italy-based Soluzione Solare has developed the new Litemeter, a tool for measuring solar radiation and determining whether a solar system is performing at correct levels.
The new product is suited for photovoltaic systems that use small data loggers, the company says. It consists of a crystalline silicon solar cell and electronics, encapsulated in a UV-resistant aluminum case.
The Litemeter measures solar irradiation with a margin of error of less than 5% and does not require an external power supply, Soluzione Solar adds. The product will be formally launched at Intersolar Europe in June.
