Soluzione Solare Introduces Sunmeter

0

Soluzione Solare, based in Vicenza, Italy, has developed the Sunmeter, a tool for measuring solar radiation and determining whether a solar facility is performing at the correct levels.

The solarimeter, which will be formally introduced at the upcoming European Photovoltaic Solar Energy Conference and Exhibition, features linearity and precision characteristics similar to those of a pyranometer, the company says. It is designed to meet four requirements: a high degree of linearity of measurement, compatibility with any data logger, reliability and contained costs.

Sunmeter measures radiation with a silicon cell using a proprietary True Zero-Ohm Shunt technology. The signal deriving from the cell is drawn up by a digital signal processor that uses algorithms to filter and compensate the radiation value, giving it precision and stability, according to Soluzione Solare.

The analogical output is freely configurable by voltage or current, with ranges of 0-10 V, 0-5 V, 0-20 mA, 4-20 mA (an optional 0-40 mV kit is available for data loggers that have direct input for an unamplified solarimeter). There is also an input for type PT100 thermoresistance in order to measure the temperature of the modules.
