Solyndra Inc., a manufacturer of cylindrical photovoltaic systems for large commercial rooftops, has introduced its Solyndra 200 Series.
The panels in the 200 Series systems are lightweight, have no need for penetrations or ballasting and can be installed faster than flat panels, Solyndra explains. In addition, the optimized light collection improves the panels' ability to capture direct, diffuse and reflected light across the 360-degree PV module surface, according to the company.
The cylindrical module shape of the Solyndra panels allows them to be placed horizontally and significantly closer together than conventional panels. The panels can be oriented in virtually any direction, which offers greater flexibility for rooftop applications, Solyndra adds.
The 200 Series systems come complete with all mounting hardware.
