Sopogy Inc., a concentrating solar thermal technology company, has appointed David Fernandez president and chief operating officer.
Darren T. Kimura, the company's founder, will serve as chief global strategist and chief marketing officer. Kimura was previously chairman of the board, CEO and president.
Before joining Sopogy, Fernandez served as the vice president of North American operations at SunEdison. Prior to joining SunEdison, he was the senior vice president of operations for Fotowatio Renewable Ventures, a global operator in photovoltaic and thermosolar energy plants. He also previously served as chief operating officer at Global Energy Services USA, where he worked on wind and solar renewable energy projects.
Kimura will now be responsible for the company's domestic and international expansion and will oversee marketing efforts. ‘At this stage in our growth, serving as the company's chief global strategist and chief marketing officer will enable me to develop our brand and drive our sales and commercialization efforts forward,’ he explains.
