Sopogy Signs MOU For 6 MW Project In Thailand

Sopogy Inc., a developer and installer of MicroCSP solar technology, and MAI Development Co. Ltd., a Thai conglomerate focusing on government, construction and energy services, have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for the development of a 6 MW solar power plant in Bau Yai, Nakorn Ratchasima Province, Thailand. The plant is projected to be able to provide electricity to the Provincial Electricity Authority of Thailand (PEA) starting next year.

In addition, Sopogy has granted MAI Development exclusive distribution rights for MicroCSP systems in Thailand, Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam.

MAI Development holds 45 power purchase licenses to supply 360 MW of electricity produced from solar energy to the PEA for an estimated value of over $500 million.
