SPARQ Systems Inc. has developed an integrated AC solar photovoltaic module. The system incorporates an AC micro-inverter directly into the solar panel, eliminating the need for a separate DC power unit.
According to the company the system is capable of harvesting 30% more power from PV panels for longer periods under low-light conditions, compared to other systems. The technology also significantly reduces the costs associated with installation and maintenance, SPARQ Systems says.
SPARQ integrated AC modules can be customized to user needs and can operate up to 250 W. SPARQ's products are in field trials, with full commercial launch expected by the fourth quarter of this year.
