SPG Solar has completed seven new PV installations at facilities owned by the City of Tucson, Ariz. The systems, which include rooftop and carport projects throughout the city's downtown area, total 2.3 MW in output.

Developed by SPG Solar and interconnected by Tucson Electric Power (TEP), the installations are expected to provide $6.2 million in net revenues over 25 years, according to SPG Solar. Financing was made possible through Clean Renewable Energy Bonds and TEP's renewable energy credit program.

‘We've basically initiated a municipal-owned solar utility which will generate net revenues to fund future energy efficiency and deferred maintenance projects on city facilities,’ says Doug Crockett, energy manager for the City of Tucson.
