SPI Solar, a vertically integrated PV project developer, has completed construction on two large-scale solar projects in Greece.

A 2 MW installation in Evros and a 4.4 MW installation in Orestiada were completed and interconnected by July 26. Both systems are providing power to the Greek Public Power Corp. through 20-year power purchase agreements. An additional 1 MW remains under construction in Rhodopi and is scheduled for completion by mid-September, SPI Solar adds.

The Evros and Orestiada projects mark the company's first two large-scale solar projects in Greece, notes Stephen Kircher, CEO of SPI Solar. The company has entered into a memorandum of understanding with the Taneo Fund to develop 23 MW of utility-scale solar across Greece.
