Spire Corp. says it is making its solar simulation facilities and expertise available to PV system installers on a customer service basis. Currently, Spire operates an Advanced Technology Center that supports material developers, module manufacturers and research groups in an effort to advance their technology.
In addition, for a complete module assembly line, the facility also utilizes Spire's Spi-Sun Simulator 4600SLP for the testing of system integrator modules. These system integrators send modules directly to Spire for analysis and timely turnaround characterization, the company explains. Spire's measurements will ensure that the PV module product that installers have procured for their systems meets their requirements. Spire also has the capability to transport its test facility to the system site, if necessary.
‘Dead-on accuracy of module performance is required to optimize system design and maximize the return on investment for power purchase providers,’ states Roger G. Little, chairman and CEO of Spire Corp.
