Spire Corp. says it is offering technical- and financial-modeling support to companies applying for the Advanced Energy Manufacturing Tax Credit (MTC) 48C and Manufacturing Line Loan applications.

The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA) has authorized the Department of the Treasury to award $2.3 billion in tax credits for qualified investments in advanced energy projects to support new, expanded or re-equipped domestic manufacturing facilities.

Having participated in numerous DOE programs over the company's 40 year history, Spire says its DOE activities have addressed the development of advanced PV equipment and technology.

In support of the ARRA applications, Spire Solar can provide specific factory designs, factory management assistance, analysis of job creation from factory installations, plant and facility design, factory siting guidance and manufacturing cost analysis for business plan input.

The company says its input is particularly valuable for companies newly pioneering this sector the U.S., those aiming to enhance their present manufacturing lines and foreign companies wishing to contribute to the rapidly expanding U.S. PV market.
