Sumitomo Chemical Co. Ltd. and its U.S. subsidiary Sumika Electronic Materials Inc., supplier of materials to the global solar, semiconductor and plastics industries, have earned a supplier excellence award from one of the world's largest microelectronics manufacturers.
According to Sumitomo, Sumitomo Chemical and Sumika earned the award on the strength of their product quality and reliable on-time delivery over the past year.
Among the products offered by Sumika for the worldwide solar market are GaAs-based epitaxial wafers. These materials enable volume production of a variety of end products, including high-efficiency solar cells, cell phone power amplifiers and LEDs.
