Solar energy services provider SunEdison will file a prospectus supplement to a registration statement filed on Form S-3 with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission relating to a proposed underwritten public offering of common stock shares.

The company will be offering 30 million shares of its common stock. The underwriters will be granted a 30-day option to purchase up to an additional 4.5 million shares.

SunEdison says it intends to use the net proceeds for general corporate purposes, which it expects to include funding working capital and growth initiatives.

Deutsche Bank Securities and Goldman, Sachs & Co. are acting as joint book-running managers for the offering.
