Sungrow Power Supply Co. Ltd., a provider of solar photovoltaic inverters, has officially opened its new North American headquarters office in Vaughn, Ontario, under the name Sungrow Canada Inc. (SCI). SCI is a joint venture between Sungrow and HiFi Solar Energy Ltd., a Canadian corporation pursuing solar power development and manufacturing in North America.
SCI provides comprehensive manufacturing, research and development, and technical support capabilities. SCI plans on investing $10 million in Ontario in the next few years, including $5 million in the first phase to set up inverter assembling and testing lines.
SCI's 25,000 square-foot facility has an annual production capacity of 200 MW of solar inverters. All products are fully redesigned and certified for the Canadian and U.S. markets. The first models to be produced are 100 kW, 250 kW and 500 kW inverters.
