The solar division of Petaluma, Calif.-based Xandex Inc. says its new SunMizer DC power optimizer for solar panels has been certified to both U.S. and European safety standards by TUV Rheinland of North America.
TUV Rheinland certified SunMizer to the Underwriters Laboratories (UL) 1741 safety standard – the U.S. safety standard for inverters, converters, charge controllers and interconnection system equipment intended for use in stand-alone or utility-interactive (grid-connected) solar power systems.
The TUV Rheinland GS S1 certificate is presented to manufacturers that demonstrate full compliance with the GPSG (German equipment safety law) and demonstrate compliance to the Low Voltage Directive (LVD) required for CE mark labeling.
