SunPower is completing construction of 3.8 MW of solar carports at the College of the Desert in Palm Desert, Calif.
The solar power systems, which are scheduled to be operating by the end of the year, are expected to generate up to 66% of the total electricity consumed on campus. SunPower Corp. has installed approximately 20 MW of solar power systems at 12 community college districts in California.
