Suntech Power Holdings Co. Ltd. has completed what it says is the largest ground-mounted solar PV system in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The 3.5 MW project is owned by Saudi Aramco and was installed on the grounds of the King Abdullah Petroleum Studies and Research Center (KAPSARC) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Phoenix Solar designed and built the system, which comprises 12,684 Suntech panels and covers an area of 55,000 square meters. According to Suntech, the project will enable KAPSARC to achieve LEED platinum certification.
