Sacramento, Calif.-headquartered SunTechnics Energy Systems Inc., a renewable energy system provider, has agreed to acquire Aztec Solar, a Rancho Cordova, Calif.-based solar hot water and pool-heating systems installer.
Under the agreement, Ed Murray, Aztec's founder and owner, will be responsible for SunTechnics' U.S. solar thermal business unit. The contract will also provide SunTechnics with additional installation and sales expertise to offer more customized solutions that encourage solar energy adoption, the companies say.
‘Aztec Solar's experienced team offers us a competitive advantage that will allow us to increase our market share in both the photovoltaic and solar water heating businesses,’ says Florian Edler, chief executive officer of SunTechnics Energy Systems. ‘Rising fossil fuel prices as well as ideal geographic conditions make California one of the best markets for solar energy.’
