SwissINSO Holding Inc., a solar technology developer focusing on building-integrated PV (BIPV) and solar thermal applications, has established a joint venture (JV) with Acomet Solar SA, a solar facade integrator that specializes in metal and glass facade constructions.
The companies plan to offer aesthetically pleasing PV modules in a range of colors that feature the same efficiency as traditional modules. The products are expected to ‘eliminate the problem of poor panel aesthetics that has hindered the development of PV and solar installations on roofs, building facades and architectural projects in general,’ says Arnold Egli, general manager of Acomet Solar.
The JV recently completed its first installation of light-blue PV panels on a building facade in Switzerland.
