Tamura Corp. of America says it has received several certifications – UL1741, UL1012 and CSA22.2 No107.1 – for its parasitic DC power supply product TCDC7001, also known as Smarty.
The unit, which has an output rated at 24 V DC at 1 amp, is suitable for powering DC sensor modules and data transmission devices in DC-circuit type smart combiner boxes, according to Tamura. It also conforms to NEC building codes, and is intended for use where compliance with Article 690 is required.
The model has been certified to North American Safety standards for use in the 200 V DC to 600 V DC input range, for providing isolated and regulated low voltage. Tamura says it can replace expensive low-voltage equipment and associated labor to enable DC-circuit string-level monitoring in PV systems.
