TEAL Electronics, a San Diego-based subsidiary of SL Industries Inc., has received a $1 million order from Energy Innovations, also based in San Diego, for its grid-tied power-supply product.
TEAL has delivered the initial units of the product for Energy Innovations' Sunflower, a highly concentrated photovoltaic tracking system. The grid-tied power supply is a device designed to provide electrical power from the grid to the tracking system of a solar array until the array begins producing power, at which point the power supply transitions off-line.
