Tecta Solar, a division of Tecta America Corp., has installed a 406 kW peak solar PV system on the roof of the administrative center at GlaxoSmithKline's (GSK) campus in Upper Providence, Pa. GSK plans to become a carbon-neutral business by 2050.
The installation was financed, in part, by a $500,000 grant from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Tecta applied for the grant via a competitive application process on behalf of GSK.
The system, which consists of 1,848 solar modules installed with a ballasted roof system, annually provides an estimated 515 Pennsylvania Solar Alternative Energy Credits (515 MWh).
