Terra Posts PV has completed the mechanical construction of the 5 MW Spanish Town solar project on St. Croix in the U.S. Virgin Islands.
The ground-mounted array is expected to provide the Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority with enough electricity to power approximately 1,500 homes.
The energy produced will contribute to the territory's goal of reducing fossil fuel consumption by 60% over 10 years. Solar power is viewed as a promising technology to counter reliance on imported fossil fuels.
