Thermotron Develops New Environmental Test Chamber For Extra-Large PV Modules

0

Thermotron, a manufacturer of environmental test chambers and equipment, has created the SE-3300, a large-scale test chamber to accommodate PV panels exceeding six feet long.

The chamber features interior dimensions of 48′ x 52′ x 80′ and is capable of performing thermal cycling, damp heat and humidity freeze tests as detailed in IEC 61646, IEC 61215 and UL 1703.

The chamber includes the 8800 Programmer Controller, which has the most common solar test specifications preprogrammed into memory. Users can select the solar test to be performed and touch the ‘run’ button to begin testing, the company says. The 8800 features a 12-inch color touch-screen monitor with an intuitive graphical user interface.

USB ports, Ethernet and a computer interface are supported to enhance communications with the test equipment, the company adds.
