Global Solar, a manufacturer of copper indium gallium diselenide (CIGS) PV modules, has ended operations in Tucson, Ariz.
According to Inside Tucson Business, the company has laid off nearly all of its employees, which numbered 147 in 2011. Executives reportedly notified employees Nov. 16 of the plans to cut the positions and shut down the company.
In June, Global Solar closed its German production facilities, consolidating all of its manufacturing at the Tucson site.
