Thomas & Betts has released the Ty-Rap 90-degree solar module clips, which are constructed of heat-stabilized, weather-resistant and ultraviolet-resistant nylon.
According to the company, the clips install quickly without tools and will hold up to four cables perpendicular (90 degrees) to the panel frame. Their patent-pending design requires no drilling or mounting bases.
Additionally, the clips fit most module frames and can slide along the length of the frame. The sliding capability enables installers to increase tension on cables to eliminate sagging beneath the photovoltaic modules, the company adds. The Ty-Rap clips also enable addition and removal of cables as needed without cutting and replacing cable ties.Â
